My name is Kate Morrison and I am a recent graduate from The Savannah College of Art and Design, with a B.F.A. in photography. I am from Columbus, Ohio and the inspiration for my photographs originally started while I was competing on the equestrian show jumping circuit, and was simultaneously photographing these events, for one of the premier equestrian photographers in the world.

Since 2010, I have branched out and photographed a broad array of subjects in a variety of settings. My focus as a photographer is to capture the beauty and essence of my subject(s), always looking to bring out the uniqueness of that individual.

"City Dancerz" is a series in which I portrayed the beauty and strength that is DANCE. To shoot this series I traveled across the country capturing a variety of genres in a diverse range of urban settings. This series took place from June 2016 - December 2016 and has been in a number of galleries across the country.

"Southern Beauty" is a fashion portrait series showing off why I find the south to be so beautiful. Look around and the landscapes have a distinct feel down in the south. The beautiful southern light can allow for a glowing look. As  a portrait photographer from Columbus, Ohio I am used to the winter days being dark and dreary. Living in the south, during my college career, I found a new love for winter. The sun is almost always shining and there is so much beauty to share looking out at the vast landscapes I was lucky enough to see everyday.

I had each subject pick a couple outfits from their own modern look and incorporate them into the landscapes, allowing the images to feel cohesive. This series wasn’t just about the beautiful landscapes or the fashion stated models but it was about allowing them to find their place and where they belonged amongst the location I picked for them.
